Bump n Bake - Wk 16 & S'mores Brownies
Updated: Aug 5, 2020

Week 15 came and went so picking back up with week 16! These late two weeks have been a bit of a game-changer. During week 15 I made it a point to get more "exercise" in to help with my mood. I use the word exercise loosely being that I'm mostly just trying to fit in 20- 30 minute walks any day that I can plus doing 10 squats every time I go to the restroom (on MWF). It seems to be working as my mood has improved ten-fold. As I've mentioned in a previous blog post, I have known for a while now that for me to be at peak mental healthiness, I have to attack it on all three fronts; meds, therapy, exercise. It's just that exercise isn't all that easy to accomplish when you're throwing up. Week 15 gave me a break in the nausea and the bad taste in my mouth (which has returned....grrrr), and a lift in energy. This has continued into week 16 so overall I'm feeling wayyyy better than I have been previously. Still, not 100%, but do you ever really feel 100% during pregnancy?
Ok, enough of my yammering - here's the shortlist.
Symptoms:

Metallic taste - There was one very glorious day at the end of week 15 where it went away and now it's back. I have a feeling I will have this for the remainder of my pregnancy. gum helps temporarily, but no matter what I do this taste is as constant a companion as the little girl I'm growing.
Bleeding Gums - Still, but I feel like I had this the entire time with Dom.
Night Sweats - Still. Thinking about buying a bunch of new jammies because I can't keep up with the increased need to do laundry this is creating.
Round Ligament Pain- This one makes me laugh only because I feel like no matter what your ailment is during pregnancy doctors are quick to be like, "yeah that's just round ligament pain." Elbow hurts? Round ligament pain. Hungry? Round ligament pain. Eyeball falling out of its fucking socket? Yeahhhh...round ligament pain.
Headaches - I'm getting quite a few headaches recently. It's probably round ligament pain so I'll just ignore it.
Cravings:
Waffles
Grapes
Pickles
Feeling/Emotion: MUCH better than previous weeks which makes me feel hopeful and excited. We decided on baby girl's name a few weeks ago so I'm enjoying talking to her using her name. It makes it feel more real to me. Also, it's super-duper simple.
Recipe:
S'mores Brownies

I haven't the slightest clue where I originally got this recipe from because I've been making it for years. I love s'mores anything so this one always scratches right where i itch.
Ingredients:
Boxed brownie mix and ingredients to make (usually eggs, veggie oil, and water)
Mini marshmallows
Graham crackers
Mini chocolate chips
Directions:
Prepare brownie mix according to package
Bake for 10 minutes less than package calls for. This is so that you can bake the marshmallows without over cooking the brownie.
While brownie is still warm, layer on the mini marshmallows. You can do as much or as little as you'd like.
Sprinkle on mini chocolate chips. Again, as much or as little as you'd like.
Place back into oven for 10 minutes or until brownies are a gooey topping. I like for mine to have a more golden campfire look to them.
Remove from oven and crush graham cracker over the top. Again - as much or as little as you'd like.
Enjoy while it's still warm and gooey and yummy!
That's all for now!
