Bump n Bake - Wk 18 & S'mores Graham Krispie Treats

Updated: Aug 5, 2020

Hellllloooo from week 18! Things are continually getting better over here. I feel as if a lot of the first-trimester scaries are behind me which has obviously had a huge improvement on my mood. And I've been....dare I say this...enjoying a few fleeting moments of this pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, I would still 100% rather not be pregnant, but lately thinking about this being my last pregnancy makes me slow down and enjoy it a little.

I've been feeling Miss P flutter around here and there which makes me smile. I went on my first work trip while preggo this week which went great! I'm exhausted, but I won't lie, a night in a comfy bed, alone in my own hotel room felt exquisite. Now, ask me have we even started on baby girl's room...because the answer is no. I bought a rug to make myself feel like I've started, but the room is still currently a guest room. By this point, with Dom, we were almost done with his room (#2ndkidproblems).

Symptoms:

  • Metallic taste - YOU. GUYS! THIS IS STILL A THING. So at this point, I think it's here for the long haul. I pretty much chew all the gum any time I'm not actively eating.

  • Bleeding Gums - Still

  • Night Sweats - Still

  • Round Ligament Pain- While annoying, I find these to be a little reassuring as it means baby girl is growing as she should be in there.

  • Vaginal Pressure - My uterus getting bigger also means my vajay is feeling the pressure. I feel like this happened wayyy down the road with Dom, so it's a little annoying to know this will likely only get worse.

Cravings:

  • Grapes - oh my goodness grapes! I've been eating whole bags within a day or so.

  • Trail Mix

  • Waffles

Feeling/Emotion: hmmm excited and a little nervous. I'm taking on a new project at work that will conclude as I'm having baby girl. It will make for a very very busy 20 weeks.

Recipe:

S'mores Graham Krispie Treats

I didn't even realize this until JUST now, but it's back-to-back S'mores goods. I love pretty much anything S'mores, but I swear this was intentional. I got this recipe from Country Cleaver.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (10 oz) Mini Marshmallows

  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips + 1 for topping

  • 1 box (12 0z) Golden Grahams Cereal

  • 6 Tbsp Butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Directions:

  1. In a 9×9 inch baking pan, spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.

  2. In a large non-stick pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add in marshmallows and stir together with butter until marshmallows have melted and become creamy. Stir in vanilla extract.

  3. Fold in grahams cereal until all marshmallows and grahams are evenly mixed together. Mix in 1 cup of chocolate chips. Spread treats into sprayed baking pan. Press into pan and sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top of the treats, lightly press into the top of treats to make sure they stick. Place into the fridge for 10 minutes to cool.

  4. Slice into bars and serve. Devour.

That's all for now!
