Week 27 Bump Date

Updated: Aug 5, 2020

Phew, ya'll! What's more badass than being pregnant? Being pregnant during a pandemic. Or how about working from home, taking care of a toddler and being pregnant during a pandemic. I'm in the middle of week three of working from home and as many of you already know, it's been a doozy for me. It's looking like we're going to be on "lockdown" through the end of April, so my new goal for the next few days is to come up with a better system that works for Ben and I. I haven't the slightest clue what that system will even look like yet, but I've gotta find some way to feel even the smallest sense of control right now.

But how is Baby D aka Miss P doing? She's doing great! Growing like a champ and moving more and more every day. I didn't think it was possible but she actually moves MORE than Dom, which is funny because I thought Dom was a lunatic in utero. Will this mean I'm going to have two crazy kids on my hands? Her kicks are really strong and I joke with Ben that I'm not quite sure she sleeps. I swear anytime I sit down, she's on the move. I'm hoping to find out what position she's in at my next doc appointment because I swear she's transverse. I feel her in pretty much every inch of my belly.

  • Metallic taste - Yep. That B is still with me. I'm begging to wonder if I'll ever taste things normally again!

  • Night sweats - Yep and getting worse as it gets warmer. If I had it my way we'd sleep with the windows open and three fans every night, but I don't want to freeze out my poor hubby.

  • Back pain - As to be expected as you enter your third tri! (THIRD TRI!!!! SHES COMING PEOPLE!)

  • Restless legs - This is mostly at night when I'm trying to sleep. I just cannot find the right position these days.

  • Frequent peeing - Also as to be expected when there's a 2-ish lb baby kicking your bladder.

  • A LOT vaginal discharge - There. I said it. There's a lot of action going on down there. Some days I contemplate stealing on of Dom's diapers. Don't @ me.

  • Yogurt parfaits

  • Honey crisp apples and peanut butter

  • Imo's mozzarella sticks

  • Jelly beans

  • Any fresh fruit really!

Feeling/Emotion: All of dem! I am so excited to meet this little girl I'm growing, I'm anxious about the current state of the world. I'm oh-so-tired! BUT I feel very, very supported! Even social distancing can't stop my tribe from having my back (virtually....calm down!)

It's so interesting because I go from "I'm ready for her to be here" to "Nah stay in there, little one," on the daily. With so much in the air with COVID-19, it's almost easier to have her inside. Then I only have to worry about one body getting sick versus two different people. The challenge, of course, is that I can't end my pandemic days with a glass or two of wine.

Nursery update coming soon! It's actually my WFH office for right now.

Keep the good vibes coming! I really do appreciate them!
